Learn the first four Water techniques. The progression NPC waits in a hidden underwater cave in Biyo Sea. The four shark objectives can overlap.
Four shark objectives

| Fresh water | Collect rainwater in a bowl and help the stranded shark-man in Sorythia. |
| Sacrifice quest | Use the lie/distraction outcome with the red-haired NPC near the Stunning Stylist. |
| Water practice | Repeatedly use the first four Water attacks. |
| Swimming | Swim until the shark-awakening prompt; the guide reports widely varying times. |
Claim the mode
Once all four statues are active, speak to the true shark-man for Hoshigaki Affinity. The recorded skill cost is the affinity, 40 Acumen and one Chakra Fragment. Water practice may complete without a notification.
One-time quest warning
The 2024 guide says the ordinary distraction outcome does not satisfy the sacrifice objective. It does not demonstrate a recovery method for an already completed wrong outcome; verify current dialogue before considering a wipe.
