Before consuming a soul
| Check | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Soul | Shukaku, Matatabi or Isobu; see the corresponding encounter page. |
| Host | No beginner blessing or Rinnegan in the documented route; cannot already host another beast. |
| Helper | A player who can cast Binding Seal. Any clan can supply this skill. |
| Failure | The attempt can consume the soul and Life Force; age improves the reported success chance. |
Stages 1 and 2
- With the sealer ready beside you, consume the soul. The helper must cast Binding Seal during the immobilized window. Success grants Stage 1.
- Activate the Jinchuriki mode repeatedly. The main guide observed Stage 2 after 31 activations on two accounts; it explicitly does not establish a universal minimum.
Stage 3 and the Beast Key
- With Stage 2 active, low health or an attempted grip can trigger the uncontrolled third stage. It is chance-based.
- Enter Stage 3 several times to weaken the seal. A Senju with Wood Suppression can apply three Wood stacks and Wood Seal to end berserk before its fatal expiry.
- Speak to Keytora, the frog statue reached from Rosemary Pit. Once eligible, obtain the Beast Key.

Stage 4: controlled cloak
- Go to the meditation pillar near The Expanse waterfall. Open K and choose Meditate on the pillar.
- Speak to the beast inside the subconscious and use the key to begin its trial.
- Defeat the inner beast and speak to it again to leave with the controlled cloak. A failed attempt costs Life Force and requires an age-up before replacing the key.
